Description
Winner of an Academy Award and two Golden Globes, Divorce Italian Style was included in the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage list of 100 Italian films to be saved. Starring Marcello Mastroianni, this black comedy tells the story of a man who wants to be rid of his wife at a time when divorce was not legal in Italy.
The Dante Alighieri Society will be showing the film free to members on January 8 at the historic Queen Street Playhouse ($10 for guests). Refreshments will be available at the bar.
Dr. Giovanna de Luca, Professor of Italian Cinema at the College of Charleston, will introduce the movie.
